Fun with family

This weekend we went to Boise for Arik's sister, Anji's birthday and to support Arik's twin sister, Gail, (bet some of you didn't know Arik had a twin) with her eye surgery. They have lots of cool toys to play with since they live in a house and actually have room for them. This picture is of Toby, Anji's husband, Sam, their boy, and Brookelyn.

Brookelyn is just a great big sister. She had so much fun pushing Kira in the swing and I think from the smiles that Kira really enjoyed it also.

For Christmas Sam got a real powerwheels truck. This was a hit with Brookelyn. It was scary watching her drive because she was turning the wheel and when going backwards actually looked backwards to make sure she didn't hit anything. Luckily she won't be on a real road for a long time. Kira wanted to ride so we put her in the back. Don't worry I made sure she didn't fall out. She really had fun.

Isn't dad and daughter so cute. Kira really loves her daddy and is really good at saying, dada. I am trying not to teach her the other word because Brookelyn has abused it, though Kira does say mama when she is screaming. Not a good start for me.

We really had a great time and are now in the final stretch before moving. We are trying to get things packed and ready to go so that we can clean as we go and still have time to spend with friends before we move. Since this week is finals we really aren't able to hang out with anybody so we are taking the time to pack so that next week we can play.

We are still looking for a house. We don't want to rush into anything so we are taking our time looking and hope that something great will pop up. We are truly going to miss Logan and all our friends. It just won't be the same, not living the college life. Since we have been married (which will be 4 years on Thursday) we have not been in college only 6 months. We have enjoyed all that comes with college life, the friends so close and the fun of it all. It will be strange having Arik work a real job and come home at night during most of the summer (unless he gets to go on a fire). It will be a new step for us.

Life is great and we hope that all are making the most of what they have right now. Time sure flies when your having fun. Enjoy every minute.

Congrats Grandma and Grandpa

This weekend we went down to Salt Lake and celebrated my Grandparents 50th anniv. My mom and dad flew in from Texas and my uncle and my cousin drove from Ohio. We had lots of fun and my grandparents loved it. It makes you stop and think how quickly time flies. I am the oldest grandchild and I am getting old. I realized that I still think of my siblings the age they were when I left for college. Meaning my soon to be 18 year old brother is only 11 in my mind and my 20 year old sister is still a mia maid.

Interesting

Well, we went house hunting and it was okay. We did find one house we liked but we have to wait to get peapproved and see if we can afford it. We are going back to Soda nex weekend to see more houses. That should be fun. Brookelyn liked all the space in each house and had fun with the stairs.

A little early

So if I had waited just a couple of hours then I would be able to say that ARIK GOT HIS JOB!!! We are so excited. We also found out that he qualifies to make more than we thought he did. This will make house hunting a lot more fun since we are now 100% sure we have a job. Thanks to all of you who have prayed for Arik and for helping him proofread papers and work with him. We love you all!!!

Fun for us

Yesterday Kira started to roll. To us is a huge deal because she has so much fat and rolls that she couldn't get over before. So yeah for Kira.

Tomorrow we get to go house hunting in Soda just in case Arik gets the job. Houses are really cheap there seeing as one house we are looking at is 2240 sq ft and has 5 bed and 2 baths for only 107,000. That should be lots of fun. Wish us luck on the house and the job. This would be good for us right now. I could work in Soda at the school district pretty easily as a sub. (I have done it before and love it a lot). I have to run, kids crying and all.

bad spelling

please ignore the bad spelling throughout my posts.

Job hunting

Arik has applied for a job with the FRoest Service working in Soda Springs Idaho. Come to find out that there are so many hoops to go through. We were told that we would knwo about the job today or tomorrow. The guy called and told Arik that he was a go, except for the fact that one more person has to look over his application and approve it. See first Arik applied, then they send all applications to a place in New Mexico (it is where all forest service job applications go. They have headquaters there or something). Arik made it through that. Then we found out that the people that wanted him and to talk to the head of the forest service over that area and tell him why Arik is good for the job and why they want him. (We thought that was the end). Today they called and said that the big guy approved him but now they have to send is application back to New Mexico and some random person is going to pick over his application making sure everything is true and that he really qualifies for the job. So we are suppose to hear back by next week, the guy contacting Arik told him that unless something weird happens Arik is to start work on May 12. That works out great since my last day of work is May 8. So we are just waiting for one more week and then we will know for sure (though we are 98% sure he will get it.) Next month at this time we will be moving to Soda Springs Idaho unless something weird happens.
I told Brookelyn to put her shoes by the door. This is where I found them later that day. It was so funny I had to take a pic.

This is Brookelyn's friend Andrew. They play together often and Brookelyn walks around going, "I want to play with my Andrew." She has also claimed Lukas, her cousin as "My Lukas" and Tanner, Mo and Alicia's boy (our friends from Rexburg) as "My Tanner". She sure loves the boys. Something dad is not too happy about already.
Brookelyn loves to help me do the dishes. Since Arik and I are the dishwashers in the house she gets to help a lot. Most of the time more water ends up out of the sink then in it. Oh well, I better take the help while I can before she hates washing dishes and it becomes a chore for her.

Daddy and his girly playing guitar hero. We learned that if they play on face off you can't get kicked off. Thus, dad does wonderfully and Brookelyn somehow hits a note every once and awhile. Kira just loves watching them play.

This Rob our friend here is Logan, we were watching Alvin and the Chipmucks. I think he was bored.

Daddy and his girls

Them in their Aggie pjs. Brookelyn went through an Aggie stage, we had to sing the fight song all the time and during March Madness she asked which ones were the Aggies and then cheered for them. This caused great problems when Texas A&M were playing BYU. To Arik's happiness, Brookelyn cheered for the Aggies and every time I tried to correct her she would say not cougars mom, GO Aggies! To which Arik cheered and smiled proudly.

This one was taken on Easter after the Easter bunny had come and they had got thier baskets.

Trying

I am trying to figure out how to do all this stuff. I guess I added these four pics without titles to them. They are all of Kira. She fell asleep on the living room floor, then she is getting ready to go to a basketball game (she is in a backpack that we bought when we had Brookelyn but Brookelyn hated it and Kira loves it), the third is Kira again and the fourth is at a USU basketball game (as we were trying to take the picture she keep trying to pull out his nose ring). Brookelyn loves Big Blue from afar like when he is down on the court but she does not like him close up. I will post more pics with title under them.
