This weekend I found out that i got a job with the Soda Springs School District teaching 7th grade English parttime. I am so excited and look forward to teaching.
we also will be closing on our house on the 14th instead of the 3rd now so that is a bummer but we are getting excited about that also.
We were able to go to Logan this weekend and spend time with friends. we miss you so much. We had lots of fun and enjoyed seeing all our friends.

HOUSE
We did it. We bought a house. Yep, after looking for over a month we found one that we can fix up but that is livable right now and that was the right price. We will be closing on the 3rd of July. Scary for us but fun at the same time.
While we were gone on our trip Kira decided to start crawling. She also learned to pull herself up on the furniture and can walk around them. She will stand on her own if she doesn't realize she isn't touching anything. She copies everything her sister does and wants to be just like her. It is so cute to watch.

We're BACK!!!!
Yes, we are back in the United States and have seen some of the prettiest places anywhere. (I will post pics as soon as I get them back from my brother in law. He took everyone's pictures and are putting them all together on a CD and then sending them to us so until then you will just have to read what we did insetad of seeing it.)
As many of you know, Arik and I went on a cruise with my family. My brother graduated from high school (congrats Garrett) and this was his graduation trip. My parents did it for each of us as we graduated. We went on trip and it was just the family. It is a great tradition. Anyways, back to my story. So, Arik, myself, Brandee (my sister), and Spencer (Brandee's husband) drove through the night to Denver on June 4th to catch a plane on June 5th to Texas. (It was 250 dollars cheaper a person to fly out of Denver instead of SL.) On June 6th my brother, Garrett, graduated. It was the shortest graduation we had ever been too. It was nice. Then on the 7th my parents took all those endowed to the temple for a temple trip. Stupid me forgot my temple recommend. Luckily, I knew the phone number to the bishopric member who just a month earlier signed my recommend. (Thanks so much Rob). He called the temple and got everything worked out. It was great to be there. Arik and I had to be the witness couple also. Don't forget your recommend on trips!!
Anyways, on June 8th we loaded everyone which included: my mom, my dad, Arik, myself, Brandee, Spencer, Melanie (my sister), and Garrett into two vans and drove 4 hours to Galveston where we sailed out of. Our cruise ship was huge. 15 decks and two and a half football fields long. Our staterooms (bedrooms) were on the second deck and at the very front. It was nice because we didn't have drunk people making a lot of noise and walking past our doors all the time.
I don't know how many of you have been on a cruise so bare with me if you know all this already. There are two dinner times on the ship, that are in resturants sit down very nice. You are assigned a time and a table. Lucky for us the tables sat 8 so we all sat together. Our dinner time was 8:15 pm. Which in Utah and Idaho is really 7:15 pm. We had the greatest waiter and assistant waiter. Bosco and Inyomann (you pronounce it YO Man, no joke.) They were great. When we sat down they put a napkin in our laps, they pulled the chairs out for us and they were great to talk to. Seeing the same people every night for a week you get to know them and we loved them. On the ship there were only 3 crew members from the United States.
The first two days of the trip were sailing days, we were on our way to Jamaica. We were on a "Fun Ship" so there were tons of things to do everyday if you wanted to. Monday they had a ping pong tournament. Dad, Garrett, and I entered. I made it to the second round (which dad and Garrett didn't, though the guy that beat Garrett ended up winning the whole thing). Later that day was a basketball freethrow contest dad and Garrett failed miserably and I wasn't there because I fell asleep and forgot to set an alarm. (our rooms didn't have windows so with the lights off and the door shut it was completely pitch black.) anyways, they also had volleyball, mini golf and shuffleboard.
We played shuffleboard and none of us really knew the rules so we kind of went with our own adn played boys against girls. The girls won by one point. It was so much fun hanging out with the family and enjoying a vacation. On Tuesday, they had a marriage game show. My parents almost made it up. Then during the game the host asked if anyone had the worst proposal ever. If you know how my dad proposed to my mom you would understand. Well, my mom raised her hand and was invited up on stage to tell the story. It was funny. Anyways, the guy set it up so that mom was a damsel in distress and dad could rescue her and propose properly. In front of all these people mom laid on the stage screaming and saying, "Help me, help me. Save me, save me." Then dad started coming up and had to stop and find his trusting stallion. (which ended up being some guy in the audience) The guy got on all fours and dad shipped him up to the stage. Once at the stage dad climbed the stairs, helped mom up and got down on one knee. He then said, "Words can not describe how I feel at this moment." Then he asked her to marry her again and they kissed. It was so funny. I bought the video of it, which is much better then what I just told you.
On the third day of our trip we landed in Jamaica. (I think I am spelling that wrong but oh well). We had decdied we would just walk to the shopping center and not spend money for a taxi or anything. right after we got past customs Arik got offered weed, in total he was offered weed 7 times while we were there and none of the rest of us were. As we were walking to the shopping center, many taxis stopped and offered to take us. "four dollars a person" they would say and we would say no. Then this guy pulls up "two dollars a person" we said no. "Okay one dollar a person" we said no again. He left. About five minutes later he pulls up again. "Okay I take you for free" no we said then he kept talking and talking finally we said okay. He took us all to the shops, when we tried to give him a tip he wouldn't take it, he said "I told you I would take you for free." So we shopped and while we were shopping he was talking to dad telling him that he could take us to a uncrowded beach. Anyways, he took us to this beach. It was five bucks a person but not crowded and we got to snorkel for 2.50 a person without crowds and we could snorkel as long as we wanted to. Then the taxi driver whos name is Robert, we asked him where to eat. He took us to The Pork Pit. It was chicken and pork and it was the best food ever. He then took us to see the Great Rose House which is a famous plantation in Jamaica. (See he took us to the shops for free and then all these other places cost us.) We stopped and saw the bar from the Cool Runnings movie and got a picture of the bobsled sign. It was really fun. Anyways, Robert took us around for the day and we paid including tips and taxi fare, lunch, the beach and snorkeling 52 dollars per couple. We thought that was a pretty good deal.
When we went to get back on the boat, customs was crazy, they did pat downs and everything, Arik even got cupped. (he must have the look). As we were waiting in line, they split the men and women up, I was talking to a lady who did a shore excursion with the ship, she got 3 hours at the beach, 30 mintues to shop, and 20 minutes to eat, and really didn't get to see the country like we did and she paid 69 dollars a person. We got a GREAT deal!!! Robert was funny and great as well.
The next day we were in the Cayman Islands. From the ship you could look across and see the other side of the island and the ocean. It is completely flat, our ship was the tallest building on the island. Anyways, here we decided to rent scooters. It was 40 dollars a scooter and two people could ride on it and you had it the whole day. So that is what we did, we took scooters along seven mile beach and we realized we were in Tortuga (from pirates) we stopped and took pictures. On the island there is a sea turtle farm. We went there and Brandee and Spencer went in because it was more than the rest of us wanted to spend and they are big into turtles and it was at the top of their list of things they wanted to do. About ten minutes from there is Hell. Yep, we have been to hell and back and it is HOT!!! It is the only post office on the Cayman Islands and when you mail something there it is postmarked from Hell. We sent off postcards to people from Hell. It was fun. When you first pull up there are stores and the post office, when you go back behind the buildings there is black lava stones that are jagged and pointing up. Because they are black they suck in the heat and it really is HOT there. We took lots of pics and I will put one from there up later. We then went swimming in the ocean. The cayman isalnds were much cleaner and a much classier place then Jamaica. (Maybe because it is owned by the British who knows.)
The following day we were in Cozamel, Mexico (yep we hit three countries in three days). Here we did a shore excursion with the cruise line to Tulum, ancient runes of the Mayans. There was a 45 minute ferry ride from where we ported (which made all the guys sick) and then an hour bus ride to the ruins. We had a great tour guide who told us a lot of information while we were driving and then once we got there. His parents are LDS and he told us more of the religious background of the Mayans and where we were then anything else. He told us that the only book that has the most correct description (I think that is spelled wrong but I can't figure it out) of how the buildings were made and things like that was the Book of Mormon. no other book is correct. That was cool to know. Anyways, it was great to see everything and to hear of thier history and how it ties with the Book of Mormon. It was all very interesting.
The next day was a day a sea sailing back to the US. We enjoyed ourselves. all of us but Spencer and mom did the free throw shooting contest we all made it to the second round and if the rim had been straight Arik would have played for the championship.
One night we went out and played bean bag toss when it was just us on the deck. They also had a huge chess set and board and that same night dad and I played, ofcourse dad won. The sunsets were beautiful. It was weird when you look out on the waters and there is no land and no other boats but you. It really helped me see how small we are compared to this great big world.
I loved seeing all the places and cultures and see how big the world really is. Sometimes I think we forget about everything else out there and just focus on the place we are at. It is beautiful and big.
Arik and I enjoyed our trip but we did miss our children and were glad to see them. Brookelyn came running out to us when we pulled up and Kira didn't remmeber who we were and cried when I held her. she remembers me know. she is also crawling everywhere, pulling herself up and walking around the furniture. She sometimes lets go and is just standing there and then we realizes that she isn't touching anything and falls down. she will be walking soon. Look out Brookelyn!!!
