Update for us Jorgensens

Sorry it has been so long since the last post. I was in Boise for a week grading DWA's which is the big writing assessment for my 7th graders. I really enjoyed it. 66 teachers graded 19000 essays twice in two and a half days. Needless to say, when I got back I didn't want to see a single paper. I learned tons about what is really expected of 7th graders as far as writing. Anyways, so we have been having fun. One day as I was looking at myself for the millionth time, being disgusted at what I saw, I decided that is it I am going to lose weight. I have a hard time just doing it. I need to be playing or in a competetion so that it is more fun and a game then "losing weight". Thanks to Lil, I am in a competetion to lose weight and get healthier. In three weeks I have started eating healthier (eating more veggies) and I have lost 2 pounds. I have also lost a little of my middle and am excited to see a little result. So I am pretty happy. The hard part is finding time to workout between the girls, Arik, and school but when there is a will there is a way.
Enough about me, back to the two people we all really care about. Brookelyn and Kira. Brookelyn absolutley loves Primary. She is learning songs and told me that nursrey is for little girls like Kira, but she is a big girl so she goes to Primary. I can not believe that I have a child in Primary, they are getting so big. Kira will turn 18 months on Sunday and has a doc appointment next friday so I will update you on how big she is.
One of the ways I have been working out is using our Dance Dance mat. We have the Disney verison so Brookelyn knows a lot of the songs. Here are the girls playing. The mat that Kira is on in the one that my mom got Brookelyn for christmas. It is a dance mat that plays High School Musical songs. When the song stops Kira starts freaking out. Brookelyn has learned to turn it back on and helps out her sister. *Brookelyn told me that Kira is too little to play with the "pink and blue one" that one is only for big people like her. :) Whenever I do laundry the girls take thier laundry baskets and put them over their heads and then run around the house giggling. Kira didn't want to be in the pic, she was grumpy.
I was mopping the floor the other day, and since I got the sweeper wet jet, Brookelyn has loved cleaning the floor for me. She actually does a pretty good job also.

Arik was playing Guitar Hero the other day and Kira just had to play with him. Both of the girls try to be just like their daddy. Arik had his hat on so Kira wanted a hat. Then for the pic Arik got on his knees so that they both could be in the pic, but then Kira had to get on her knees because dad was on his. So cute. I love it.

My girlies being silly. I just love them so much. I love Kira's "cheese", and Brookelyn is losing her baby face, body, fat and is turning into a girl right before my eyes.

Girls rock the house

I wish I had a picture for this one but since Arik was playing basketball and I was enjoying the fun the camera was the odd man out.

Ever since Brookelyn first saw Mamma Mia she has loved it. Well, tonight we watched it and for those of you that have seen it you know that the end is just full of songs, one right after the other. Well, with the songs there had to be dancing and the girls and I rocked out. Brookelyn has been memorized the dances and can do the moves. So here I am dancing with my girlies thinking that at that moment there was no where else I would rather be but there being silly dancing.

No matter how bad I want a boy, I would not could not trade either of my girlies. They are the light and life of our family and they are gifts from our Heavenly Father. I feel so unworthy of the responsibly to raise these percious girls in this life. I am forever grateful that He trusts Arik and I enough with them.

It was one of those nights that was fun with no fighting and screaming. One of those nights that reminds me why I wanted to be a mom in the first place. It was the greatest and right at a time when I needed it too.

Potty trained at 17 months

Got ya!! The other night the girls were taking a bath and then I heard that sound that you never like to hear when your kids are taking a bath. The grunt. Everyone that has kids knows the grunt right before the diaper is about to fill up. So I look down and yep, a turd is floating in the tub. brookelyn screams and jumps out and I pull Kira out and put her on the toliet, no potty chair or anything, I was holding her of course. Anyways, she didn't scream like Brookelyn did when we put her on the potty. A few seconds later, Kira grunts and poops into the potty. Brookelyn runs to daddy telling him, "Kira went potty she is such a big girl." Then running to the bathroom, "Good job, Kira. I am so proud of you. You are such a big girl." Yep, Kira has two moms and one dad with no sister. I then cleaned the tub and refilled it with water and then the bath fun started all over again. We were impressed with Kira and might start her earlier with the potty then Brookelyn, since Kira loves to do everything Brookelyn does it might be a little bit easier with the second then the first.

Christmas, New Year's and everything in between

We went to mom and dad Jorgensen's house for Christmas this year. (It was a really far to travel:)) On Christmas Eve, the O's and Rob Harris came to the house and we ate lots of great food, sang Christmas carols and played Mad Gab. There are only three kids under twenty four and that was Brookleyn, Kira, and Sam. In my family we did pjs on Christmas Eve and Arik's family liked that tradition so we started it. By the time the girls got thier pjs on, Kira was in no mood to take pics.
Arik decided to try out Kira's present from Santa. Here is kira trying out her present, I didn't get a good pic of Brookelyn with her gift from Santa but she got a vanity, much to mom and dad's dismay. (We wanted her to get a toolbench but she wanted the vanity.)Arik was really tired and I covered in this beautiful blanket that Arik's mom made Brookelyn. My mom gave me a Broncos' jersery. Yep, my first one ever and I am almost 26 years old. The girls and I tried to support the Broncos to victory but alas it was not meant to be.
For New Year's we had our friends from Rexburg, the Hemmings, and our friends from Logan, the Severinsens, at our house. Braden and Kira were so cute together.

We busted out our Sing Star. Of course we had to play boys against girls. Go Alicia.

Go Mo! We had lots of fun and even got Rob to sing some Country.

Kira just being Kira. She is so cute.

Tanner and Brookelyn playing in the bus.

Kira trying to play Ticket to Ride and saying cheese.

CHEESE!!!

Kira and Dad just chilling at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

My husband got me this book for Christmas. Those that read Harry Potter will know what it is.

This last pic was of Libby Severinsen. She is borrowing our bumbo right now and loved to sit up in it. This was just the cutest pic ever.

We had a great holiday and enjoyed the season. Now back to work and real life again. We hope all is well with everyone and I will post some pics from our family pics as soon as I can find more time.
